SMRT Building
The SMRT Building is the smart building of the future, where you can meet and brainstorm. The room has several meeting tables. The completely self-sufficient building features a beautiful green view of the former Singelpark nursery garden, putting you in a quiet oasis in the busy heart of Leiden.
But the SMRT Building is not just any building. It is primarily a physical experimentation and education venue that continues to be developed with the latest technologies. For example, students from the mboRijnland will use the SMRT Building, as well as students from the CIV Smart Technology. They, together with companies, will work in the building with technologies such as wind, solar and thermal energy to make this house even more intelligent, sustainable and green. In this way, they generate valuable insights for city policymakers and businesses and can help with digitisation and making homes and commercial buildings energy-friendly.
