Will Virtual and Augmented Reality influence the future of education? We invite all educators and policy makers to experience these technologies for themselves and to explore their potential applications to education. The Centre for Innovation has been exploring the possibilities (and pitfalls!) of virtual and augmented reality for teaching and learning, and we are excited to share how we can together keep Leiden at the forefront of VR & AR technologies in education.
What are VR & AR? Both are technologies which can offer immersive learning experiences, but they are very different. Virtual Reality fully surrounds you, totally replacing your field of view with a digital environment. Augmented Reality, on the other hand, adds digital elements to the ambient environment. We’ve been experimenting with both technologies, exploring their potential application to education.
On November 21st, Centre for innovation presents VR and AR-applications developed together with faculties. Teachers and students will reflect on the potential benefits for education. And, of course, you’ll also be able to experience the apps yourself!
Listen to presentations and discuss about the added value of VR and AR for education.
