Seven European Universities have joined forces to shape the University of the future

On January 30, seven European Universities have joined forces in response to a call from the European Commission. They asked to create an European campus by working together in an  innovative alliance that will shape the European University of the future. This assignment creates new educational forms and ways to work together across European boundaries. The overarching theme of this network was: well-being.

This network consists of the following universities: Birmingham University (U.K.), University of Cologne (Germany), Leiden University (The Netherlands), Linnaeus University (Sweden), University of Nantes (France), Semmelweis University (Hungary).  The candidates from 7 countries were challenged to explore the following themes:

What is a Design Challenge? 
A Design Challenge is a guided innovation process in which participants study and define problems in order to come up with innovative solutions. Participants work in a pressure cooker environment that stimulates their creativity. At the end of the challenge, participants will pitch their proposed solutions.
