Alicia Reyes Valenzuela of startup PulmonaVat replicates the lung with lung organoids, and primary cells. These “in vitro models” are designed to accelerate drug discovery and reuse, creating new opportunities for personalized treatments for respiratory diseases.

Erwin van Oosten of MyDaily has created a fully personalized news app where young people can get information from reliable news sources. With this, they avoid misinformation and get factual news.
MGL Pharma
Mirjam Huizenga has developed a MAGL inhibitor with MGL Pharma for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). The chemotherapy patients receive can cause pain due to nerve damage. After testing, this MAGL inhibitor shows that it suppresses CIPN without causing negative effects.

Ilse Gille, Frits Koning, Mirjam Heemskerk and Sebastiaan Heidt form CHART. They have developed a new T-cell therapy that offers a safe and effective treatment for celiac disease. The therapy specifically targets and eliminates the cells that cause the disease. It addresses the underlying immune response without patients having life-long dietary restrictions.
