Climathon Leiden: Cities. Hacking. Solutions.

Join the Leiden Climathon to contribute to a more sustainable city for the future. Waste management and sustainable buildings are some of the biggest challenges when it comes to hacking a climate-proof Leiden, which is why our 2019 Climathon will deal with these climate challenges.

The Climathon is a hackathon in which people all over the world work on local climate challenges that are also globally relevant. The event is an initiative of Climate-KIC, the European climate community that seeks to connect companies, governments, education and science and to work together towards a climate-proof future.

Challenges
1. Creating the built environment in a sustainable way
2. Sustainable urban green oases
3. Profitable decentralized energy production
4. Sustainability in lower-income households

Winning solutions
Participants will work in teams on a solution to one of the challenges and they will be coached. At the end of the day the solutions are pitched for a jury. The jury chooses one winner per challenge. After the Climathon, the winners will have the opportunity to work out the solution together with professionals.
