Since 2009, Leiden Shorts has been bringing film enthusiasts and filmmakers together to celebrate the power of cinema. Leiden Shorts takes place at various locations between May 30 and June 3, including at PLNT!

Every year, Leiden Shorts receives more than 1,200 submissions from over 70 countries. Over the course of four days, the festival screens more than 100 short films in a variety of genres from around the world.
The core program consists of three competitions—for national, international, and debut films—alongside thematic and focus programs, industry events and networking opportunities, and in-depth discussions through panels, Q&As, and workshops.
This year, the festival is also hosting the European Short Pitch Coproduction Forum. Leiden Shorts is a lively and continuously evolving film festival that encourages talent, broadens perspectives, and enables new connections.
